Imam Abdullahi Abubakar has been praised by the United States Mission in Nigeria for saving hundreds of Christians during an attack in Plateau state on June 23, 2018.
Abubakar, the Chief Imam of Nghar village in Gashish District in Plateau state, has been widely lauded by people in and out of the country.

The US Embassy in Nigeria praised Abubakar when it awarded Abubakar the Nigerian Star, “in recognition of achievement and service to Nigeria and Nigerians”.
The mission, in a message on social media described the Imam as a peace-builder who together with his deputy saved over 300 lives of his Christian neighbors at Nghar Vilage, Barkin Ladi LGA, Plateau on June 23, 2018. The mission said he put his faith into action.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the 83-year-old Imam, Abubakar, who saved about 300 Christians from armed herdsmen in Plateau state was set to be honoured in Abuja.
Legit.ng gathered that the Imam will be honoured alongside prominent Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in various fields.
