Newport County vs Man City: Phil Foden netted a brace as Manchester City progressed to the FA Cup quarter-finals after digging deep to beat stubborn Newport County 4-1 on Saturday, February 16, in their 5th round clash .
Newport came into the contest at Rodney Parade as giant-killers after sending the likes Leicester City and Middlesbrough out of the FA Cup and produced a decent performance in the first stanza to stop the Pep Guardiola tutored-side from scoring going into the break.

But a brace from Phil Foden and goals from Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez saw the Citizens break Newport's backline and ended their dream of becoming the first club from the fourth division to reach the quarter-final of the FA Cup since 1990.
Interestingly, Newport failed to convert a glaring goal move in the first stanza after Ederson was spot on to keep out Tyreeq Bakinson's header from close-range.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester City defeated former Champions, Chelsea, 6-0 at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, February 10.
This was City's third test in their push to reclaim the EPL title after an arguably gruelling week that saw them battle Arsenal last weekend and Everton in midweek.
Both encounters saw the Pep Guardiola-tutored side pick maximum points as they leapfrogged Liverpool into the first place on the standings.
