Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported Super Falcons forward Desire Oparanozie was among the goal scorers as Nigeria thrashed Zambia 4-0 on Wednesday, November 21, at the ongoing 2018 Africa Women's Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana.

The Falcons came into the game with a 1-0 loss in their opening match against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana while their opponents, Zambia kicked off their campaign with a 5-0 win over Equatorial Guinea.

The Zambian shot-stopper was called to duty as early in the 9th minute and she cleverly stopped Asisat Oshoala from close range.

But as half time was approaching, France-based forward Desire Oparanozie, finished off a quality cross from US-based Francisca Ordega to put Nigeria in the lead.

China-based Oshoala on her part missed series of sitters with the best of chance coming on the hour mark. She had just the goalie and the goal post to beat but she failed in her effort to increase Nigeria’s 1-0 lead. However, nine minutes later, the Super Falcons got their second of the game.

Substitute Rasheedat Ajibade was also on hand to score the Falcons third goal with an excellent strike after a beautiful pass from Oshoala to see Nigeria increase her lead to 3-0.

However, the eight-time African champions was not through with the days business as Nasarawa Amazons midfielder star Amarachi Okoronkwo blasted home a cracker from 21 yards to net Nigeria fourth.
