- APGA has accused the PDP of fanning the flames of the crisis in the Anambra State House of Assembly
- The party says PDP is worried over Governor Obianos closeness to presidency and wants to destabilize the state ahead of 2019
- National Co-ordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum Chinedu Obigwe, also accused factional House Speaker Uzoezie of collaborating with the PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been accused of causing the crisis in the Anambra State House of Assembly.
Punch reports that the allegation was made by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) which claimed the PDPs purpose was to impeach the state governor Willie Obiano by making the state ungovernable.
According to the party, the closeness of Governor Obiano to the presidency has been a source of worry to the PDP which feels thee southeast governor might work against the main opposition in the next election.

Chinedu Obigwe, National Co-ordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum, in a statement, accused the factional Speaker of the House, Ikem Uzoezie of romancing the PDP to destabilise the state.
He said: “As of today, we know those funding their rebellion in the House of Assembly and the amount of money spent to buy their conscience.
“The reason why their evil plan to impeach the Speaker failed is because they are not fighting a just battle rather they are doing the bidding of politicians that want to return Anambra to the PDP dark era.
“The aggrieved APGA lawmakers fomenting this trouble with them are on their way to PDP because they lack spirits of good sportsmanship to accept the outcome of the last primary elections.”

Punch quotes a source close to the new leadership in the Assembly as saying that a plot to impeach Obiano was supposed to commence on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, but was shifted when the day was declared a public holiday by the Federal government.
Legit.ng reported some members of the Anambra state House of Assembly were on Thursday, November 22, locked out of the legislative chambers by police officers.
The Punch reports that the legislators locked out of the assembly building were those who purportedly impeached the speaker of the House, Rita Maduagwu, on November 13, 2018.

The action against the lawmakers reportedly began around 8am when about 200 policemen barricaded the entrance to the legislative complex while the factional speaker, Ikem Uzoezie, and his group pleaded with the police outside for about two but were not allowed in.
