Former vice president and presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, is currently in a meeting with regional leaders led by Chief Edwin Clark.
Nigerian Tribune reports that the meeting, which is taking place at the Asokoro residence of the Ijaw leader in Abuja, is to let the leaders know of his desire to contest for the presidential ticket of the opposition party.

Other leaders present include those of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) which Clark belongs to, Afenifere, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Middle Belt Forum.
In attendance are Afenifere leader Ayo Adebanjo; President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Nnia Nwodo; Albert Horsefall, Air Commodore Dan Suleiman, Afenifere scribe Yinka Odumakin, Senator Stella Omu, Idongesit Nkanga, Bitrus Pogu and Godknows Igali among others.
Recall that NAIJ.com had reported that former vice president Atiku Abubakar on Friday, August 31, picked the PDP presidential nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the party's primaries slated to hold in September.

Abubakar, a presidential aspirant on the platform of PDP, promised to make Nigeria work again if elected.
NAIJ.com gathered that while speaking through one of the members of Atiku support group, Adai Edwin Adai, Ababakar noted that he had what it takes to rescue the country from its present state and set it on the path of greatness again.
