Toronto Raptors defeat Golden State Warriors in Game 6 to win first ever NBA title

- The NBA 2019 finals produced a new champions as Toronto Raptors defeated Warriors in Game 6

- It is the first title in Raptors' history following a hard-earned 114-110 victory on Warriors home court

- Kawhi Leonard was named MVP after a remarkable scoring streak since the playoffs started

The Toronto Raptors defeated the Golden State Warrior 114-110 in Game 6 of the Finals on Thursday, June 13, at the Octagon Arena to win their first championship.

The Raptors sealed a 4-2 win over The Warriors in the best of seven NBA Finals.

Raptors played with more purpose after narrowly losing Game 5 by a point and took an 11-2 lead after Kyle Lowry put in his third three-pointer of the game.

The Warriors fell to an astonishing 0-3 at home in the finals and were now without injured Kevin Durant who had helped them stage a comeback to take the game to Game 6.

Golden State were however matched up to Toronto and put up a fight, reducing Raptors' lead to a point at 33-32 after 12 minutes of play.

Pascal Siakam and Lowry each scored 26 points while Vanvleet and Kawhi Leonard added 22 apiece sealing Raptors win in the Golden State's home turf.

The game was deadlocked until VanVleet scored his fifth three-pointer of the night to put Raptors ahead at 104-101.

A costly Danny Green turnover gave the Warriors one last chance in the dying minute of the fourth quarter but Stephen Curry was unable to bury a three-pointer.

His attempt hit the rim as players of both teams scramble for the rebound that forced the Warriors to signal a time out.

A technical foul was committed and Leonard converted the free-throw and was fouled immediately after giving the Raptors victory with a scoreline of 114-110 after sealing both free throws.

Leonard won MVP after 10 out of 11 judges voted for him to join Lebron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only player to win with two different teams.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that NBA finals 2019 Game 5 between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors ended in a 105-106 win for Stephen Curry and his teammates.

The Canadian based outfit failed to wrap the series up in Game 5 after surrendering a six-point lead with just over three minutes left when the scores was at 103-97.
