According to Premium Times, Nigerian musician Naira Marley (real name Afeez Fashola), was arrested by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday.
The fast-rising singer is currently being questioned at the EFFC office in Lagos, the report said.
Premium Times reports that “a top source at the agency confirmed the arrest”.
The reason for the arrest is yet to be ascertained, but it may be connected to Naira Marley’s support for internet fraud. (Read details here)
“All you guys, all the money in your pockets, all the money you spend, you think it’s the government that is making the money go round?” Naira Marley had said in an Instagram Live session.
