President Buhari's minister reveals he would be re-appointed over 'failed politicians'

- Communications minister Adebayo Shittu is sure that he would be re-appointed into President Muhammadu Buhari's ministerial cabinet

- Confident Shittu says the president would surely pick him over 'failed politicians'

- The embattled minister also says he has instructed his legal team to appeal a federal high court judgment kicking out his lawsuit against his party, the APC

Nigeria's Minister of Communications Adebayo Shittu has expressed confidence that President Muhammadu Buhari would re-appoint him into his cabinet in the second term that will kick off on May 29.

The Nation reports that Shittu said this while reacting to the kicking out of his lawsuit against his party All Progressives Congress (APC) by a federal high court in Ibadan, Oyo state on Friday, April 12.

Shittu had dragged the APC to court for barring him from participating in its governorship primaries in Oyo state ahead of the 2019 general elections over discrepancies with his NYSC status.

The national daily newspaper reports that the minister said President Buhari would reappoint him and not “failed politicians.”

On his lawsuit against APC, Shittu, who called into a political talk show on Ibadan-based Fresh FM, revealed that he had told his lawyers to appeal the court judgment.

Legit.ng had reported that Justice P.I. Ajoku of the federal high court in Ibadan, on Friday, April 12, struck out a suit filed Shittu, against the All Progressives Congress (APC) for excluding his name from the list of gubernatorial aspirants in the March 9, general elections over his inability to present his NYSC certificate.

Shittu, who was screened out of the APC governorship primaries in Oyo state for not having the mandatory NYSC certificate, filed the suit marked FHC/IB/CS/111/2018.

But in her ruling, Ajoku said that the case was struck out the due to the fact that Shittu did not file the case within the time stipulated by law.
