Legit.ng gathers that Marafa asserted that no one should be under any illusions about the true situation in the North, insisting that if something is not done, the situation may deteriorate.

He said: “Permit me to draw the attention of my colleagues and Nigeria that the North is at war as I’m talking to you, let nobody deceive himself.

“There is war in the North and unless something is done, I’m afraid, the future in the next two, three years, this situation might be out of control."

Marafa cautioned the northern elites not to think they can take refuge in Abuja; stating that this may be a mirage.

He said: “And for those of us Nigerians, especially the elites from the North that think maybe they are taking refuge or cover in Abuja, God forbid, that might be a mirage because Mr (Senate) President, these issues are far beyond what anybody maybe thinks they are.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that despite the Nigerian military's actions against bandits ravaging Zamfara communities, the criminal elements declared that airstrikes by the military cannot kill them because they get information ahead of attacks against them.

The disclosure was reportedly made in a tape recording of a conversation between a bandit (yet to be identified) and an emir in Zamfara.

During the phone conversation, the bandit declared that bloodshed would continue as long as the Nigerian government continued to send in more troops to the state.
