The minister of justice and attorney general of the federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN), has told the PDP not to link him with any alleged plot to void the Rivers state governorship election.
Malami on Sunday, April 7, dismissed the allegations by the PDP that he was working in collusion with the transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi to void the result of the last governorship election in Rivers state.

The attorney general told the Nation that the allegations by the PDP were absurd, noting that the claims by the opposition are unheard of in a democracy.
“I am not aware of any such ridiculous plan. There is nothing like that, to my knowledge," Malami said.

“We are in a democracy, and there are institutions with powers to void elections if the need arises. That is not part of the responsibilities of the Attorney General of the Federation.
“So, they should not link him (the AGF) with such ridiculous claim. They should leave the AGF out of the local politics in Rivers State."
Legit.ng had reported that PDP accused the minister of transport, Rotimi Amaechi, and the minister of justice, Abubakar Malami, of plans to scuttle the victory secured by the party in the just concluded Rivers state governorship election.
The PDP alleged that the minister of transportation and his colleague at the justice ministry plan to cause constitutional crisis in the state.
A statement by the national publicity secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the party has been informed about plans by some top shots in the APC who have been mounting pressure on the acting chief justice of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed.
