81 persons will be awarded First Class degrees when the Ahmadu Bello University holds its convocation ceremony for 15,289 graduands on Saturday, April 27.
The vice chancellor of the institution, Prof Ibrahim Garba, will also give out different prices to 15 best graduating students for the 2017/2018 session, across the various faculties, Leadership reports.

Legit.ng gathers that the development was made public in a statement released by the university’s registrar, Abdullahi Ahmed Kundila, on Monday, April 22.
Kundila disclosed that the ceremony, which is slated to hold at the Mamman Kontagora Square, ABU main campus, will be preceded by a convocation lecture titled: “It’s all about the human capital…stupid,” to be chaired by Prof Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, executive secretary, National University Commission (NUC).
An honourary degree will also be conferred on the president of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, while the former president of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Hassan Adebayo Sunmonu, will also receive a Doctor of Science degree.
According to the registrar, the honorary degrees were as a result of the immense contributions to Nigeria’s economic development and that of humanity in general.
The convocation is expected to be rounded off with the commissioning of laudable projects geared towards alleviating the acute shortage of student hostels.
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to be the special guest of honor during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a 19-year-old Nigerian, Emmanuela Biye Ikwen, graduated with a First Class degree in Geology from Rhodes University, South Africa, making academic history.
The teenager, who hails from Okorshie village, Obudu local government area, Cross River state, started her early education in Nigeria before relocating to South Africa with her family.
