Legit.ng gathers that Oye said rather than playing politics of pragmatism, Ndigbo play politics of emotions.

He said he had lost hopes of an Igbo presidency in 2023 as a result of what happened during the 2019 presidential election.

He said the greatest problem facing the southeast zone is disunity, which is difficult to heal.

Oye insisted that Ndigbo need a new leadership in its apex body, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, to take them to that elusive Promised Land.

He said: “The more you play regional politics, the more you ostracise yourself. You have to align yourself with the centre and other regions. The type of politics Igbo play will never help them out.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo group cried out over moves by some top persons at the helm of affairs to exclude it from the politics of Nigeria.

The group raised the alarm at the Igbo National Stakeholders Assembly (INSA) summit and prestigious awards which took place in Lagos.

Chief John Uche, the convener of the occasion, said it was time for Ndigbo to make decisive efforts to ensure they are not politically relegated.
