The Adamawa state's Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Kashim Gaidam, has debunked a rumour that he turned down a bribe of $1million from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Gaidam said he was not offered such money to rig the presidential poll and he doesn't even have any relationship with the PDP presidential candidate, Sahara Reporters reports.

The Adamawa state's REC made the statement to address reports that he turned down the sum of $1million bribe and a house in Dubai from Atiku to rig the presidential election.
Gaidam, who accused desperate politicians of spreading the false claims, threatened court action against those spreading the rumour.
He said: "I've never had any contact with Atiku all my life. I can state without fear of contradiction that Atiku probably does not know how I look, because I've never met him personally, all my life. I was shocked to read what was credited to me by some unscrupulous persons."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that some media reports suggesting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign funds is being sponsored by an Israeli firm, and the company is planning to jam the network in Nigeria has been debunked.
The company mentioned, HLSI Security Firms and Technologies, has advised the public to ignore the allegations.
