As the 2019 general elections draw nearer and promises of 2023 presidency continues to fly in the air, the lawmaker representing Kaduna Central in the upper chamber, Senator Shehu Sani, has issued a piece of advice to different geo-political zones in the country.
Legit.ng gathers that Senator Sani said geo-political zones in the country should demand for a written and irreversible agreement if they are promised political power in 2023.

On his Twitter page on Tuesday, January 1, the lawmaker tweeted: "If they promise your geopolitical zone political power in 2023,demand for a written irreversible & irrevocable agreement,signed by their presidential candidates & party chieftains & witnessed by respected traditional & religious leaders.Gentleman agreement is a hoax & a mirage."

Recall that some leaders in the southeast geo-political zone have been clamouring for the support of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari, because of the 2023 presidency.
According to these leaders, majority of whom are members of the APC, supporting President Buhari for the 2019 presidency will give southeast a better chance of producing Nigeria's president in 2023.
In a previous report by Legit.ng, the minister of science and technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, called on Ndigbo to support the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The minister made the call on Sunday, December 30, adding that it is important for southeast to support Buhari for a second term in order to have a better chance of producing president in 2023.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, warned Ndigbo to be wary of promises from the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The ex-president gave the advice on Saturday, December 29, during a stakeholders' meeting at Ukpor in the Nnewi South local government area of Anambra state.
Obasanjo, said the APC had no plans to hand over the presidency of the country to the Igbo.
According to the former president, Igbo should take their destiny in their hands by getting united in the 2019 general elections and make a mark.
He said: “I urge you the Igbo not to allow anybody to relegate you to the background because you occupy a place of preeminence in this country.
“The Igbo must bury their differences and work together for the actualisation of the Atiku/Obi project in their best interest. It’s dangerous to take the APC government seriously.”
