Buhari reveals Boko Haram's newest tactics of attack, unveils plans for police, judiciary

- As one of his campaign promises ahead of the February 16 poll, President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he will reposition the police and the judiciary

- President Buhari, speaking in Ebonyi on Wednesday, January 30, said that Nigeria has enjoyed adequate food supply, improved economy and better security under his regime

- He added that Boko Haram has begun the new tactics of kidnapping and using youths below 15 years to carry out their attacks in public places

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, January 30, said that as part of his effort in the anti-graft war, he will not relent in his bid to restructure the judiciary and the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), especially if he emerges victorious at the February 16 poll.

Speaking in Enugu during his presidential campaign, President Buhari admitted that the war against corruption is the toughest and most difficult battle ever in his administration, Daily Trust reports.

He stated: “The important thing that I assure you as president today is that I have never been in position and abuse it."

He further said that under his administration, Nigeria has achieved adequate food supply, improved economy and better security, especially in the fight against insurgency in the northeast

He said: “First, is that we must secure the country. Second, is the economy, the unemployed Nigerians were too many and thirdly is to fight corruption.

“The last but not the least is about fighting corruption and bribery. Under this system it is a very difficult thing but we are doing our best to reposition the police and the judiciary.”

Moreover, the president revealed that Boko Haram insurgents have started using new means of attack which is kidnapping girls and boys less than 15 years of age and arming them with explosives in order to send them to public locations to unleash havoc on people.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Ebonyi traditional rulers council on Wednesday, January 30, endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term.

The royal fathers resolved to ensure the success of President Buhari in the February 16 presidential election.

They gave the assurance during an audience with the president at the Ebonyi state Government House in Abakaliki.
