WBC champions Wilder names next opponent after Anthony Joshua’s clash with fans

- WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will not be fighting Anthony Joshua in his next fight

- Wilder was excited AJ suffered fans boo following his comment at the end of Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora fight

- The American insists he is only thinking of Tyson Fury rematch next year

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has refused fighting Anthony Joshua despite his readiness to battle the Bronze Bomber in a unification fight.

According to UK Metro report citing FightHype, the Nigerian-born pugilist, who currently holds three of the four major championships belts-IBF, WBA, and WBO titles was booed by fans at London’s 02 Arena, moments after Dillian Whyte knocked out Dereck Chisora that he was looking forward to face either Wilder or Fury not Whyte.

Reacting after learning about the fans uproar against AJ, the WBC belt holder Wilder, who earned a split-draw decision against Fury early December, took to laughter before declaring his preference to hand Fury a rematch first before thing about AJ.

I heard they were booing the s*** out of Joshua,” an excited Wilder was quoted as saying to FightHype.

I got some texts or whatever saying the whole entire arena was [booing him]," added the WBC champion.

Despite claims in some quarters over Fury’s unavailability for a rematch, Wilder insists he will be fighting Fury next.

Right now, it’s all about enjoying the holidays, going into the New Year, enjoying the New Year, then getting back at it.

“I’m going with Tyson Fury. For sure. We’ve got to do the rematch. It gotta come right back. It was a controversial fight and when it’s like that you’ve got to come back.

“There can’t be no draws. There’s a winner and a loser – you know what I’m saying?

I’ve been travelling nonstop since that fight, and you gotta have the rematch because people are continually talking about it. All over the world they’re just talking, talking, talking.

So it’ll be dumb to just fight somebody else while you’ve already got a fight everyone is talking about. The heavyweight division is lit. So we’ve got to keep it flaming up, keep adding that log to it,” Wilder submitted.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that World heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua surprised boxing fans with a visit to share the joy of the festive period.

According to a UK Daily Mail report, the 29-year-old Joshua handed special presents to the female fan from sponsors, JD Sports to the loyal customer.

“Oh my god you've come to my house!” the woman could be heard screaming in excitement before welcoming Joshua with a hug.
