Nigerian man recounts how he received a dud cheque as wedding gift from a friend (photos)

Wedding gifts are ways in which family and friends appreciate newly wed couples and also to show their love and support for the union. However, giving couples present is not a compulsory rule, you can do so if you have the power too.

Nowadays, couples really just want gift cards that they can use to purchase whatever they desire or even straight up cash.

A Nigerian public relations expert has taken to social media to vent about an incident that happened after his wedding. The public relations expert identified by his Facebook handle as Don Saint revealed that he was given a dud cheque as gift.

The newly wed man who is also a show promoter noted that his friend had given him a cheque to be cashed at a particular bank before Monday, December 10.

"Someone came to my wedding on 1st Dec, and dropped a cheque of N5,000 for us to cash. I called him two days later and he said we can cash the cheque anyday from the 10th of Dec.

Today, I sent my wife to the bank to cash the money, since she banks with the same bank too.

And after waiting for about one hour, 15 mins, she was told she can’t cash the cheque, that the person got no money in his account.

Like seriously? It would have been cool for me, if you came, ate, drank and just left, than putting my wife through this stress…

It’s a big shame coming from a man like you!

Thank you!"
