He said: “Igbo political leaders must emulate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for showing selflessness, courage, consistent, patriotism and political intelligence and sagacity that brought the Yorubas into political limelight.
“The Igbos must be dynamic, tactful, diplomatic, sagacious and patriotic in exercising their franchise by emulating the Yoruba that always vote for integrity, transparency and good governance not political parties.”
Ezekwueme also called the Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership to apologise to President Muhammadu Buhari for declining his request to visit the Southeast during the 2015 presidential electioneering campaign.
He also called on those who have shown political apathy to rescind their decision in the interest of the region.

Chairman, Board of Trustees of the human rights group, Dede Uzor A. Uzor, also expressed displeasure over decline of good governance and right abuses in South East.
He said: “We want to state categorically that the governors of the zone have not shown enough political will to provide strong leadership to their respective states.
“Basic infrastructure such as good roads, water and poverty alleviation has continued to be a mirage. Crimes and criminality are fast returning to the zone.”
Meanwhile, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said though there are things upon which Nigerians can disagree and differ, but they must rise over these differences and treat one another with kindness and decency.
Tinubu said this in a Christmas message to Nigerians Monday, December 24, in Lagos.
In the message he personally signed and made available to Legit.ng, Tinubu, a former Lagos governor said: “There will always be things upon which we will disagree and differ. Such is the way of life. But we must always transcend these inevitable differences to treat one another with fundamental kindness and decency. This is the real spirit of Christmas and this must be the spirit of the Nigeria we seek to build.
"May each and every Nigerian enjoy a Merry Christmas. May you share good tidings with family and friends on this day of peace and joy."
