Former Sunderland striker and Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has laughed off reports that he has just £600 in his account barely 48 hours after reports emerged that he is broke.
Two of the world's biggest circulating newspaper, The Sun and Mirror in England had reported that Gyan has gone bankrupt, despite once appearing in the list of world's highest-paid footballers.

However, the 33-year-old striker has responded sarcastically in a series of tweets calling out the media (The Sun and Mirror in particular) for claiming he is broke.
Since leaving Sunderland in 2012, Gyan spent three years at UAE club Al Ain where he earned just under £200,000 a week and scored an impressive 123 goals in 120 appearances.
He then earned another big-money move to the Chinese Super League, spending the 2015 and 2016 seasons at Shanghai SIPG before returning to the UAE with Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai.

Gyan currently plies his trade in the Turkish top-flight with Kayserispor. He is Africa's top goal scorer at the World Cup with six goals and has scored and impressive 51 goals in 106 appearances for Ghana's Black Stars.
Earlier, Legit.ng also reported that German international of Ghanaian descent Jerome Boateng is in Ghana for the first time in his life.
