- The ruling APC recently set up a reconciliation committee to settle most of the crisis ravaging the party
- The committee was approved by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC
- A youth group within the party has berated the leadership of the party for excluding youths in the committee
The Young Stakeholders Forum of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted the National Working Committee (NWC) for excluding youths and women from the reconciliation committee set up by the party recently.
The forum stated that they should be carried along in the reconciliation exercise of the ruling party, because some young politicians within the APC were also not happy with the party, stressing that excluding them will worsen the situation.
In a statement sent to journalists on Tuesday, November 20 by one of the leaders of the group, Chucks Nwanodu, the forum urged the NWC to include the names of young politicians in the committee before the inauguration.

Part of the statement read: “We received the news of reconciliation committee with a shock, that no single young man or woman is considered necessary. The national chairman of APC must learn how to recognize the influence of the youths and women wings of this party.
“How can he as the head of NWC of our party set up a 7-man reconciliation committee across the six geo-political zone without young ones inclusive? How can the young ones be model along with the party?
“So we in the APC Young Stakeholders demand that before the inauguration of this reconciliation committee, young ones should be inclusive to make it 8-man committee, so that the young ones can have a sense of belonging in the APC.”
He urged the APC leaders to create the enabling environment for young people to aspire to the highest cadre of political leadership in the party.

Meanwhile, the immediate past deputy national publicity secretary of the APC, Comrade Timi Frank, has asked Oshiomhole to clear his name in the reported allegation of bribery and corruption during the party's primary election.
Comrade Frank said until proper investigation and clearance is given to the APC national chairman, it will amount to immorality for him to criticise the opposition party and its presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar's policy documents.
The former APC chieftain was reacting in a statement on Tuesday, November 20, to a comment credited to Oshiomhole where he said Atiku's policy document, especially on the issue of creating jobs can not be trusted.
