Senator Shehu Sani has flagged off his re-election campaign to the Senate in 2019 on the platform of People’s Redemption Party (PRP), The Punch reports.
Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that the outspoken senator, in a letter to Adams Oshiomhole on Friday, October 19, expressed his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) citing ideological differences.
Fresh facts have indicated that the senator representing Kaduna Central set the ball to the Senate rolling when he was answering questions from pressmen at the secretariat of the Kaduna chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists.

Addressing journalists and his supporters, Senator Sani urged the people to vote wisely in the forthcoming general elections, adding that APC has failed to bring the desired change to the people of the country.
He said: “Nigeria is transiting to a new phase and it is time for Nigerians to make a choice between freedom and bondage."
Sani was also reported to have thrown a political jibe at the APC candidate for the Kaduna senatorial district, Mallam Uba Sani, saying that the zone is not for sale.
“Kaduna Central senatorial district is not for sale. You need those that can stand for you and not those who are loyalists to governors.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Senator Shehu Sani on Tuesday, October 3, joined People’s Redemption Party (PRP), three days after he left APC.
Sani made this known in a statement by his special adviser on politics and ideology, Suleiman Ahmed, in Abuja.
He said that it became impossible for him to continue co-habiting with people his called reactionaries and their perfidious and inimical style of politics.
