The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the federal government’s message to the United States to be cautious of granting a visa to the presidential candidate of the opposition party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Speaking on the development, the party’s national chairman, Uche Secondus, asked the federal government and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to brace up to accept defeat in 2019, Punch reports.

Legit.ng gathers that he stated: “What is their own in the visa that they are calling on the authorities of another country not to grant a private citizen?
“The fact is that the APC government has failed. They are already jittery. They know that the game is up and that’s why they have been running from pillar to post.
“Tell them that their days of deceit are over. Nigerians are tired of them and they can no longer lie or take the people for a ride anymore.”
Atiku Abubakar reportedly appeared for an interview at the US Embassy in Abuja on Tuesday, November 27.
A source reportedly disclosed that the former vice president would use the trip to make a “political statement” ahead of the 2019 presidential election.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that the federal government told the US to be cautious in granting visa to the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in order not to create the impression of endorsing him for the 2019 election.
The minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, gave the government's position at an interactive session with media executives in Abuja on Thursday, November 29.
Mohammed said that the government was aware of the move by the former vice president to lobby the US to lift the visa ban imposed on him.
