Official: Real Madrid name Argentine former player as permanent manager until 2021

- La Liga giants Real Madrid have appointed Santiago Solari as the club's permanent manager

- The Spanish giants confirmed the Argentine's appointment from interim to permanent on Tuesday, November 13, 2018

- The Argentine tactician, Solari will now take charge of the first team duties until June 30, 2021

Real Madrid interim boss Santiago Solari has been named Los Blancos permanent manager on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 with immediate effect.

According to a statement on the club’s official website, the 42-year-old Solari has now been handed a two and half years contract as first team manager, after arriving on interim basis from the junior team- Castilla, following Julen Lopetegui’s sack after Real Madrid 5-1 bashing by Barcelona in the Clasico

“The Board of Directors of Real Madrid CF, meeting today November 13, 2018, has agreed to the appointment of Santiago Solari as coach of the first team until June 30, 2021,” the release read in part.

Interestingly, since assuming office in interim capacity, the former Real Madrid midfielder has turned around the fortune of the club, and has already entered the club’s record books as the manager with the best start in 116 years of the club's existence.

He also boast of a superior best goal difference of +13.

Other previous managers that made their mark at Real Madrid include Paco Bru, in 1934, with a goal difference of +4.

Enrique Fernández, with +9 goal average, reached the mark after two decades later.

The pair of Vujadin Boskov and José Antonio Camacho entered the exclusive class with a difference of +6 and +5 respectively.

And West Ham’s boss Manuel Pellegrini, who achieved his in 2009 with a +12 goal difference.

At the last count, before handing Solari the managerial role on permanent basis, club president Florentino Perez had reportedly held talks with top managers that includes, Antonio Conte, Roberto Martinez and Leonardo Jardim for the vacant managerial role at Santiago Bernabeu

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Real Madrid interim manager Santiago Solari is set to be named Los Blancos permanent boss the Spanish FA (RFEF) confirmed receiving documents from the La Liga giants on Monday, November 12.

According to an ESPN report, the 42-year-old Solari was handling the club's youth side Castilla, but took over the first team after Julen Lopetegui was fired after the Los Blancos 5-1 bashing in El Clasico by Barcelona.

Real Madrid are now set to name the 42-year-old as first team manager until the end of the term after winning his last four games.
