Burna Boy is one singer that is widely respected in Nigeria and even beyond. The popular musician whose real name is Damini Ogulu was recently interviewed by Africa's Finest, a renowned fashion magazine managed by a well known bank.
In the interview, Burna Boy revealed a number of personal details about himself which especially concerned his fashion tastes, dislikes and personality.
One of the most stunning revelation made by the singer was that he did not mind going shirtless if he saw another person wearing the same shirt he was putting on.

According to him, he liked to feel different with his style and if he was not distinctly marked out from others, then his dressing for that day or occasion was not good.
The Ye crooner went ahead to point out feeling swaggy and authentic in whatever he was wearing was what good fashion meant to him.
His exact words: “I try to do what makes me feel like I’m swaggy, it could be a named brand or not. It just has to make me feel good. It just has to be different. For me, if it’s not different, then I don’t feel good,” he responded when asked to describe his style.
I could go somewhere wearing a shirt, and if I see someone wearing the same shirt, I’ll take it off and just be shirtless!"

Even more, Burna Boy revealed that given the fact that he has lived by the principle of distinction and uniqueness for a long while, he hoped to create and launch his own fashion brand which, according to him, would be a fusion of all the unique attires he has worn over the years during tours and concert performances.

“I’m working on it as we speak. It’s my ‘merch’ from my tours but the design is really giving out what I would wear. If I were to wear what I’m wearing right now, It would be all Burna Boy, it would be all my design. That’s basically it! It would be my designs on clothes that I like. I’d describe it as ‘Reckless & Sweet’," he said.
Furthermore, the 27-year-old singer made it clear that he would like to collaborate with other big names in the fashion industry worldwide. Some of these people or brands include Virgil Abloh, Off-white and Louis Vuitton.

Deviating from a conversation about fashion, the popular artiste also revealed the beginning and origin of his name Burna Boy. According to him, the name emanated as a result of his love for comic characters. As to what influenced him to go into music and forge ahead in spite of the odds his decision presented, the singer had this to say:
“I had a lot of musical influence growing up, from my grandfather’s highlife and afrobeat collection to my dad who gave me my first reggae CD. That’s why I call my genre Afro-Fusion, it’s a concoction of different elements of sound.”
Away from this, Burna Boy's love for fashion can indeed be reflected in his recent purchase of a very expensive watch which had to travel across the seas to get to him.
