The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has expressed dissatisfaction over the federal government's war against terrorism, saying the All Progressives Congress-led government has lost the war.

The opposition party made this assertion following the recent killings of Nigerian soldiers in Metele, Borno state, Punch reports.

Legit.ng gathers that the assertion was made in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday, November 25, by the director of strategic communication, John Gbor Campaign Organisation, Mike Angle.

The statement read: “We are grieved and heavy hearted over the circumstances surrounding the foul-like killing of Nigerian soldiers in their prime in earnest.

“To allow the APC to continue with its poverty-breeding governance, styled ‘next level’ will exacerbate the hope-crashing condition of Nigerians, including the patriotic soldiers.

“So saddening that out of about 10 tenable strategies to emasculate terror, APC regime is deploying one, that is, military option, telling lies with zeal to have ‘decimated and degraded’ Boko Haram.

“A 2000-Year study of terrorism shows that both conciliative and coercive methods are deployed in fighting it. You can’t win terrorism war which purpose is hinged on religious ideology through neutralising the enemy who is ready and willing to die alone.

“We call on all Nigerian voters to troop out massively and vote out the APC across board in order for this great nation to rise again.

“We condemn all sorts of domestic and nomadic terrorism going on in Nigeria erroneously called herders-farmers’ clashes.

“We condemn disregard for the rule of law. We condemn outright governmental criminality committed through attack and extrajudicial killings of people who are exercising their rights to assembly and self determination."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday, October 13, in Abuja, insisted that the All Progressive Congress (APC) deserved re-election in 2019, in view of the party's achievements in Nigeria.

Buhari advised religious leaders and traditional rulers to encourage their adherents and subjects to read every political party’s manifesto carefully and vote wisely in the 2019 general elections.

Speaking at the Interfaith Conference on Religious Harmony in Nigeria, organised by the Interfaith Initiative for Peace, the president urged religious leaders to desist from partisan politics in order not to lose their value in the society.
