The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has urged Nigerians to support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to achieve the goals of conducting free, fair and credible elections in 2019.
Ogunwusi made the call when the INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, paid him a courtesy visit in his palace in Ile-Ife on Tuesday, November 13.
Legit.ng gathers that he commended the INEC boss for the commission’s readiness to make the general election successful and acceptable to the citizenry.

Earlier, Yakubu had reiterated the commission’s readiness to conduct credible and globally acceptable polls during the forthcoming 2019 general elections across the country.
He assured Nigerians that INEC would not be biased before, during and after the elections.
Yakubu also appealed to traditional rulers to use their positions to prevail on politicians in their domains to shun thuggery and any form of electoral malpractices.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday, November 12, called on all staff of the commission to be dedicated and committed to flawless elections in 2019.
Yakubu gave the charge at a two-day INEC Election Monitoring and Support Centre (EMSC) Zonal Implementers Trainers Workshop held in Lagos.
The workshop, organised by INEC, was powered by the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES) for INEC staff in the southwest zone.

Yakubu, who was represented by Dr Adekunle Ogunmola, the national commissioner of INEC in charge of Ogun, Ondo and Lagos states, said all hands must be on deck.
The chairman said: “We must concert efforts at ensuring that we get adequately prepared for the 2019 elections. Right now, we are very much on course."
