- Arsene Wenger says Monaco made a good decision to appoint Thierry Henry as new coach
- The former Arsenal star has signed a three-year deal and replaces Leonardo Jardim
- Wenger says Henry must make sacrifices for him to succeed at Monaco
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised French club Monaco for their decision to have appointed his ex player Thierry Henry as new coach.
Monaco over the weekend hired World Cup winner Thierry Henry as their new coach, and the former Arsenal striker has signed a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 side.
And Arsene Wenger says the Gunners legend has all the tools to be a success in the dug-out so long as he learns that management is now his life.
Wenger said: "Yes, of course Thierry Henry is a good choice. He has a lot of credibility.
"He is very intelligent and understands football pretty well. That's why he has everything it needs like a lot of players on this level.
"But when you get started you must have a little bit of luck too.
"He is going to need a good attitude and he will have to make sacrifices. You have to sacrifice your whole life,'' Arsene Wenger said according to UK Sun.
Meanwhile, Monaco are expected to unveil Arsenal legend Thierry Henry on Wednesday, October 17.
