President Muhammadu Buhari should be praised for reviving the Nigerian economy from the waste of the PDP years and for restoring security to the country’s borders, so says the Minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige.
Punch reports that Ngige told newsmen on Sunday, September 9 that Nigeria would have been in ruins if Buhari had not been elected in 2015.
Ngige said these to journalists in Onitsha, Anambra state where he also expressed surprise that Nigerians were not clapping for President Buhari as they should even when he revived the country’s economy from a state of comatose.

Ngige, who brushed aside claims that the Buhari administration’s economic policies were inadequate, said: “Don’t just talk about that. We are wonderful with the economy; nobody, I mean no person would have done better than this present government in those two areas.
”I want you to take something away and that thing is that any other person handling this situation; economy, security, it would have been worse.
“We came in and oil nosedived to 37 dollars a barrel with a production of 600,000 per day, a drop from 2.2 million and yet we managed the economy out of recession.

“Nigerians should be clapping for us on daily basis, and after thanking God, they should thank us. Yes, because God has used Buhari and some of us to make Nigeria work.”
Just recently, NAIJ.com reported that Ngige also said that President Muhammadu Buhari is healthier than 80% of Nigerians.
The minister of labour and productivity said that contrary to what some people believed, the president was not too old but rather matured for leadership.
He noted that when Malaysia was in trouble politically and economically, it Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad, a 90-year old to lead it as prime minister.
