- Tottenham on Saturday were beaten at home 2-1 by Liverpool
- The Reds have now won all their five games played so far this season
- Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino scored the two goals for the Anfield club
Liverpool on Saturday, September 15, continued with their impressive performance this season in the Premier League beating Tottenham 2-1 at the Wembley Stadium.
A win for Tottenham in this match would have taken them to second position on the Premier League standings, but they disappointed their home fans.
The visitors had the first chance in the 6th minute when James Milner delivered a powerful cross inside Spurs' 18 yard box, but Salah's effort was blocked by goalkeeper Michel Vorm.
Liverpool scored their first goal in the 39th minute through a powerful header by Georginio Wijnadum.
Tottenham protested heavily and it was the goal line technology that confirmed Wijnaldum's header crossed the line.
Englishman Harry Kane had a superb chance to restore parity for Tottenham in the 45th minute when he found himself one on one with goalie Alisson, but he missed.
Brazilian star Roberto Firmino netted the second goal for Liverpool in the 54th minute, but Tottenham pulled one back at the death through Eric Lamela who was assisted by Kieran Trippier.
Liverpool won the match 2-1 to stay top on the Premier League standings with 15 points.
