The Cable reports that among the groups are the Association of Cattle Sellers, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), NATO, and Sheikh Gumi Market Association.

The Kaduna state governor thanked the groups for their gesture, describing it as a pleasant surprise.

When the party fixed the money for the form, I could remember that during the meeting, the President was the first person to rise his hands and said he does not have N50m,” El-Rufai said.

”Infact, we the governors started discussing on how we will raise the money for Mr President.

“We said each governor will contribute N2 million each and we travelled to China and it was in China I told the president that some groups have purchased the form for you. So who will buy my own for me?

“I don’t have N20 million also to buy my form. The money I have in the bank is not close to that amount. I have only one account in GT. Except I sell my house will I be able to raise that amount.”

Earlier, the spokesperson for the groups, said they were moved to purchase the form for the governor as a way of supporting him for his good work.

Meanwhile, a former governor of Plateau state and presidential aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jonah Jang, has said his party cannot ask him to step down for some other presidential aspirants.

The senator representing Plateau North Senatorial District, announced his decision not to budge while speaking with journalists on Monday, September 10, at his residence in Maitama, Abuja before leaving for the PDP National Secretariat to submit his presidential nomination forms.
