Why Buhari reportedly gave Osinbajo approval to sack DSS boss Daura

The sacking of Lawan Daura, the director general of the Department of State Service (DSS), by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo was reportedly done with the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Sahara Reporters, the decision to sack Daura was taken at about 4am on Tuesday, August 7, and Osinbajo secured Buhari’s approval before making the decision public.

The newspaper said anonymous sources confirmed that Daura ordered Tuesday’s DSS siege to the National Assembly in order to whip up public sentiments for Senate president Bukola Saraki.

The police had also been reportedly told to deploy its men but the inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris, rejected the offer, saying there was no threat to security at the National Assembly.
