APC plans to make Akpabio Senate president - Ben Bruce

- Senator Ben Murray Bruce said the APC was planning to impeach Saraki

- Bruce claimed the party was plotting to install Akpabio

- He described the siege at the National Assembly as illegal

Senator Ben Murray Bruce has claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) planned to impeach Senator Bukola Saraki and install Senator Godswill Akpabio as Senate president.

Bruce raised this allegation on Tuesday, August 7 following the DSS siege at the National Assembly.

In a chat with Channels TV, Bruce said: “The front gate has been blocked by DSS and police. The plan is to allow APC senators entry. Senators who will install Akpabio as the Senate President and impeach Saraki and Ekweremadu.”

“It can’t stand. They do not have the numbers. I have been in touch with Britain, Canada, and requested from the management that the visa of Akpabio and all the other senators involved in this be revoked.

“So that their request to go to London, Washington, Paris, Berlin will be revoked.”

“What they are doing is illegal. What they are doing is against the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This makes no sense.”

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the acting president, Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday, August 7, sacked the director-general of the Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Daura.

A statement by Laolu Akande, his spokesperson, said: “The acting president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), has directed the termination of the appointment of the director general, State Security Service, Lawal Musa Daura, with immediate effect. "
