Take note: These cities will experience thunderstorms, rains, cloudy weather on Tuesday, July 24

- Central states of Nigeria are expected to experience thunderstorms and moderate rains

- There are chances of moderate rains likely over Abuja, Makurdi, Lokoja and its environs

- There are also chances of day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 32 and 16 to 24 degrees

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thunderstorms and moderate rains over the central states of the country such as Mambila Plateau, Kaduna, Ibi, Yola, Jos, Taraba, Makurdi, Abuja and Nasarawa axis on Tuesday morning, July 24.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday, July 23, also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 32 and 16 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

It explained that while other cities would remain under cloudy conditions in the morning, chances of moderate rains were likely over Abuja, Makurdi, Lokoja and its environs as the day progresses.

The agency predicted that southern states would experience thunderstorms and moderate rains over the inland cities of the south-east in the morning hours while the inland cities of the south-west would remain cloudy.

It also predicted thunderstorms and moderate rains over the entire region throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 29 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience prospects of thunderstorms and moderate rains over Katsina, Sokoto, Zaria, Kebbi, Maiduguri, Yobe, Dutse, Gombe, Bauchi, and the entire region throughout the forecast period.

Northern states are also expected to experience day and night temperatures in the range of 29 to 33 and 20 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Prospects of thunderstorms and rains over most part of the country are likely to prevail in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts.
