Senator gives locations of Boko Haram bases, urges Army to attack

- Two Boko haram bases as been identified by a Nigerian senator

- Senator Ali Ndume gave the name of the locations as the Damboa/Gwoza/ Chibok axis and the lake chad axis

- He urged the military to intensify military action on the two locations

Senator Ali Ndume has identified two spots from which he says Boko Haram terrorists operate in Borno state.

While reacting to the recent killings over the weekend in the outskirts of Damboa town in Damboa local government area of Borno state, Ndume who gave the name of the locations as the Damboa/Gwoza/ Chibok axis and the lake chad axis urged the military to intensify military action on the two locations, Premium Times reports.

In the attack, 31 persons were reportedly killed and about 48 others injured after bombers attacked Abachari village in Damboa local government area, residents and witnesses have said.

Ndume who issued his statement said if the military strikes at the bases, the insurgents would be tamed and possibly rendered harmless.

“We are appealing to the military to intensify operation on the darkest spots in Borno state where the insurgents are said to be carrying out their operations from.

“These two spots are reported to be Damboa/ Gwoza axis and the Lake Chad axis. It is suspected and reported that Abubakar Shekau, a factional leader of the sect is operating from the Chibok axis while the Mamman Nur’s group operates from the lake chad axis,” he said.

Going further, he added that: “They should clear the two bases for us to have peace. These are the two reported and known bases of the insurgents in Borno state.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the Borno police command confirmed the Tuesday, June 19, early morning attack on Gajiram, the headquarters of Nganzai local government area of the state by suspected members of Boko Haram.

The attack comes barely three days after bombers attacked Damboa council area with Rocket Propelled Launchers and Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs which had claimed over 40 lives with 75 injured.
