Ebonyi bans mobile phones at state house after leaks

- The use of phones and other electronic devices have bee banned at the Ebonyi State house

- The directive was given by the Ebonyi state government on Monday, May 7

- According to reports, the directive followed the leak of policies and deliberations of the state executive council

The Ebonyi state government on Monday, May 7, banned the use of mobile phones, laptops, iPads, voice recorders and other electron magnetic devices over leaked content to the opposition.

Daily Trust reports that the ban followed after policies and deliberations of the state executive council were leaked from the Ebonyi state Government House.

According to the ban all mentioned electronic devices will not be allowed into the executive chamber and the governor's office.

The directive which was posted on the entrance of the executive chamber warned against sanctions for defaulters.

It was also obeserved that both members of the state executive council including the deputy governor, Kelechi Igwe and journalists were denied entry into the Executive Chamber, venue of the meeting between the governor, David Umahi and the governing council of Ebonyi state University (EBSU).

NAIJ.com earlier reported that some suspected thugs attacked the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi state on Monday, February 5.

Paul Okorie was said to have been attacked by some political thugs at the Ugwulangwu area of Ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi.

The the thugs also attacked Nnachi Okoro, Ohaozara APC chairman and John Ogbonnaya, another member of the party.
