The Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday, July 6, paid a condolence visit to the family of elder statesman late Maitama Sule.
Osinbajo met with Sule's wife in Kano, Kano state.
The Acting President said he met with the late orator for the first time when he was 15 years old.
Osinbajo said: "I met Maitama Sule when I was 15 years old and looked up to him since then. Today, I paid a condolence visit to his wife, daughter and family members in Kano."

NAIJ.com had reported that elder statesman died in the early hours of Monday, July 3, at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt.

Sule's body was brought back to Nigeria on Wednesday, July 5, and buried in Kano same day.

In honour of the elder statesman, the Acting President had in a statement said that Sule is best remembered on the global scene as one of Nigeria's foremost envoys.
Osinbajo said Sule's clarity of voice and vision contributed significantly to the nation's high esteem.
Further describing Sule as an illustrious son of Nigeria, Osinbajo said the elder statesman death is a great loss to the nation.
