Vanguard reports that Abdusalam was arrested following a series of reports that anytime she visits stalls in the market and touches the items, they would disappear mysteriously later.

According to the report, Abdusalam's mode of operation was what gave her away as she would pretend to haggle with the seller, touching one item or the other and once she leaves, the food will disappear and reappear at her house in Oko Olowo, Ilorin.

Police operatives had to arrest her after a lot of complaints from market women who said their foodstuff got missing after a certain woman touched them in their shops.

According to a witness who gave his name as Abdul Suleiman, police found a total of about N2 million in the house of the suspect during a search, before she was taken away for questioning.
