On Monday, October 21st, 2019, the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) launched a maiden edition of an automotive design challenge titled the ‘NADDC Automotive Design Challenge’
The Challenge is aimed at discovering and promoting automotive design capabilities in Nigeria.
While the maiden edition will be design-centric, the annual event would present relevant automotive challenges of the country and give opportunities, spanning Mechanical Engineering, OEM, Spare Parts, Accessories, etc. to innovative Nigerians to express their talents in proffering homegrown solutions towards the realization of functional Nigeria applicable vehicles.
The maiden edition will require participants to submit entries of Nigeria applicable designs in the following automobile categories:
- Intra-city Mini Taxi
- Cost-effective Mini Tractor
Winners in the Six (6) geopolitical zones will win fantastic prizes, while national finalists will also win great prizes and get the opportunity to be attached to the Council’s Research & Development team.
The Challenge is open to Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 40 years.
