The Senate on Thursday, June 13, said it was ready to receive all forms of communications from President Muhammadu Buhari.
The ninth Senate which just started and now in its second day of activity said a message would be sent to President Buhari through the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Daily Trust reports.

The upper chamber said it would inform the president that the required quorum of the 9th Senate is ready and the presiding officers, Senate President Ahmad Lawan and Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, have been elected.
In the same vein, the lawmakers in the red chamber also decided that it would send a congratulatory message to the speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Deputy Speaker Ahmed Wase on their emergence as the leader of the House, as well as to inform them of their election.
The Senate said it would send messages to international parliamentary bodies such as the African Union (AU), the Inter-Parliamentary Union (PU), and the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA).
Others it would also reach out to are the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) parliament, the Pan-African Parliament, the Association of Senate, Shoora and Equivalent Council in Africa and the Arab World Association (ASSECAA).
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the senator representing Yobe North at the upper legislative chamber, Lawan, emerged the Senate president of the ninth Assembly.

Lawan defeated his main challenger and senator representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, after the counting of the ballot by the clerk of the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani-Omolori.
Legit.ng also reported that Gbajabiamila became the speaker of the House on Tuesday, June 11, the day the ninth National Assembly was inaugurated.
Gbajabiamila, the new speaker, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress, is representing Surulere 1 federal constituency in the National Assembly.
