The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership has been urged to cede the position of majority leader of both the Senate and House of Representatives to the south-east zone.
The call was made by the leadership of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in a statement issued by its secretary general, Uche Okwukwu, on Wednesday, June 12, Daily Trust reports.

Legit.ng gathers that Okwukwu further demanded that Igbo sons and daughters be appointed into the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The group reminded Nigerians that Igbos were committed to the fundamentals of justice, equity, fair play, freedom, democracy and rule of law and truth.
It said: “Ndigbo deserve that their plights be addressed through a legislative, political and equitable intervention.
“First, the obvious and undeniable political plight Ndigbo face today is the imbalance in the state numerical structure of regions. No region has less than six states but the south-east has five states.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) called on President Muhammadu Buhari to give the south-east the position of secretary to the government of the federation.
The president general of the council, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, in a statement on Thursday, June 13, said this will enable equity, fairness in the country.
