Chelsea plot last-minute move to stop Maurizio Sarri from joining Juve

Premier League giants Chelsea have made last-minute attempt to keep Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

According to UK Sun, Serie A champions Juventus are eager to land the 60-year-old as a replacement for Max Allegri, with the Blues manager said to be homesick.

However, Chelsea chiefs are reportedly making last-minute moves to ensure Sarri reconsider his stand, after guiding the west London dwellers to a third-place finish in the Premier League alongside winning the Europa League.

And after returning Chelsea to Champions League football with his tactics, the clubs eggheads feel that keeping Sarri will be the best decision, rather than commence another search for a new manager.

Already, Sarri’s backup staffs are eager to move to Juventus to try and win the Serie A title, but Chelsea are unwilling to send his packing and cough out £5m as compensation for the remaining 24 months contract.

Interestingly, the Italian tactician penned a three-year contract last summer, after replacing compatriot Antonio Conte at the Bridge.

Club legend Frank Lampard, Max Allegri and even Jose Mourinho are some possible replacement if Sarri quits.

At the moment, Chelsea are yet to make an official approach to Derby, with Lampard, along with his assistant Jody Morris, the fans' top choice to take over from Sarri.

Chelsea legend Petr Cech will rejoin the club as Sporting Director next month.

Current manager Maurizio Sarri is on the verge of leaving the club with report having it that he will be joining Juventus as replacement for Allegri.

And according to the report on Daily Mail, Chelsea have sat down with Frank Lampard and they have discussed the chances of him replacing Sarri.
