Breaking: Buhari, APC caucus meet in Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, June 10, met with caucus members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.

The Nation reports that the president met with the party members behind closed door at the Ladi Kwali Conference Centre, Abuja around 9.30 pm after their meeting with the APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

It was gathered that those present at the meeting were the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, Oshiomhole, the governor of Kebbi state, Atiku Bagudu, his Ekiti counterpart, Kayode Fayemi, and Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state.

Others present at the meeting include: the Senate leader, Ahmed Lawan, leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the senior special assistant on National Assembly matters (Senate), Ita Enang.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Oshiomhole held an all-important meeting with its senators-elect.

The meeting, presided over by the APC's national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, is being attended by the party’s governors and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Gida Mustapha.

The critical meeting is necessitated by the bid to ensure full adherence to the resolve of the party on the choice of Senator Ahmed Lawan, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Muhammed Idris Wase as Senate president, deputy Senate president, speaker of the House of Representatives, and deputy speaker respectively.

The meeting Legit.ng gathered is also expected to conclude on the remaining principal officers for the NASS, including the positions of Senate leader, deputy Senate leader, Senate chief whip, deputy Senate chief whip, House leader, deputy House leader, House whip, and deputy House whip.
