3 top football managers who can replace Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea

- Maurizio Sarri could depart Chelsea this summer for a return to Italy

- His exit will force the Blues enter the market in search for the Italian's successor

- Frank Lampard tops the list of managers who could potentially replace Sarri

Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, had an arguably successful first season in the Premier League.

The Italian guided the Blues back to the Champions League after sealing a third place finish in the league with 72 points.

Sarri also managed to secure his first major title of his career after his side thrashed Arsenal 4-1 in Baku, Azerbaijan to lift the Europa League trophy.

However, despite his remarkable success, the Italian tactician has failed to win over the fans' support base, with his relationship with Roman Abramovich said not to be too excellent.

He has already been linked with a return to Serie A, with Juventus understood to be interested in his services.

Legit.ng now takes a look at at three potential candidates who can replace Sarri at the west London club.

1. Max Allegri

Allegri was sacked as Juventus boss after a five-year spell with the Serie A champions.

Despite dominating the domestic league after replacing Antonio Conte, the Italian manager was a little unlucky in the continental stage - losing the Champions League final twice.

Sportskeeda describes the 51-year-old as "an intelligent manager who has fluidity tactics."

And with his known ability to turnaround weaker teams into title contenders, Allegri would make a perfect choice for the Blues with guaranteed silverware for the Stamford Bridge outfit.

2. Laurent Blanc

The French manager shares similar tactical traits with Maurizio Sarri.

His previous managerial stints with Paris Saint-Germain and Bordeaux have seem him establish himself as a serial winner.

The former Manchester United player won numerous domestic titles with the two French clubs, including an unprecedented Ligue 1 title with Bordeaux in 2008/09 campaign.

With his glittering track the record, the 53-year-old would be a perfect fit at Chelsea.

3. Frank Lampard

Lampard has enjoyed a successful debut into football management with Derby County.

The Chelsea legend nearly guided the Championship side to Premier League promotion, missing out on a place by a whisker after losing to Aston Villa in the playoff finals.

He has since been tipped to make a sensational return to Stamford Bridge as manager.

Whereas he may lack the stature of Allegri and other successful managers, he could get the nod of fans and Chelsea board to replace Sarri.

His close connection with both the club's hierarchy and the fan base gives the England international a huge advantage in becoming the next Chelsea boss.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Maurizio Sarri representative told Chelsea that he wants to leave the club after having a meeting with club's chief in Italy.

The Italian manager won his first trophy when his side defeated Arsenal in the Europa League final by 4-1 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
