Social media was set abuzz on Friday, May 10, after news broke that Nigerian music acts Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile were arrested by officials of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Legit.ng gathered that the arrest was confirmed by the acting spokesman of the commission, Tony Orilade, to the News Agency of Nigerian (NAN) in Abuja.
The two were picked up for allegations bothering on advance fee fraud.
In a following development, rapper Ruggedman, who has been severally involved in a back and forth with Naira Marley over the topic of internet fraud, has now reacted to his arrest.

Speaking in an interview with City FM, the rapper divulged that he was happy about the arrest of the Am I a Yahoo Boy crooner. He expressed that he was also expecting to see some of his supporter’s at the EFCC office but he never saw any of them.

The veteran music act further disclosed that Naira Marley had himself to blame for his arrest because he publicly promoted what a lot of Nigerians have been campaigning against. He said the arrest will serve as a reality check for the music act, adding that a battle with the crime commission is not easily won.
