The chief whip of Lagos state House of assembly, Rotimi Abiru, has called on Muslims to use the period of holy month of Ramadan to pray for solutions to the country's challenges including security issues.
Legit.ng reports that Abiru who represents Shomolu constituency 2 at the Assembly, made the call on Monday, May 6, in a message to commemorate the commencement of 2019 Ramadan, adding that the state of security in Nigeria calls for prayer.
He said: "I believe with prayer and the efforts of our security agents, all wicked activities of kidnappers, Boko Haram and other forms of criminality will be solved.''

The lawmaker noted that Muslims should use the period to pray most for peace, unity and prosperity of the country, noting that the swearing in of another administration coincidentally falls in the holy month of Ramadan.
Abiru further advised that Muslim faithful should seize the opportunity in praying for themselves and the nation.
He also urged Nigerians to shun all forms of activities that can engender unrest and also be vigilant in the communities.
Abiru, however, urged the Muslims to preach love, tolerance and seek forgiveness of sins.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously had previously reported that the chief whip of the Lagos state House of Assembly, Rotimi Abiru, called on all stakeholders including all the 36 governors of the federation to strictly implement the thirty thousand naira (N30,000) new minimum wage bill passed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
