Members of the organised labour in Bauchi state have given an ultimatum to the state government to pay workers their April salaries.
Danjuma Saleh, the Bauchi state chairman for the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) during a press conference on Wednesday, May 8, said the state government had been asked to pay the salary on or before Friday, May 10.
Saleh warned that if the salaries been owed workers in the state is not paid by Friday, the organised labour would meet to take the next line of action on the issue.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the general secretary of NLC, Peter Ozo-Eson, said not only workers earning less than N30,000 would benefit from the new wage law.
Ozo-eson said all categories of workers would eventually benefit from the new salary scale that would be done to reflect the new law.

Speaking on Friday, May 3, said the new minimum wage law has ripple effects on other categories of workers who are currently earning above the minimum wage, because there is the need to maintain vertical relativity of the salary table.
