- Man United vs Cardiff Premier League clash saw the Red Devils bow on their last match day this season
- Two superb goals from Nathaniel Mendez saw the relegation bound side avenge their defeat in December under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
- United will now have to contend with Europa League football next season
Manchester United wrapped up their Premier League campaign on a losing note following the 2-0 embarrassing defeat inflicted on them by relegation bound Cardiff City at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were seeking to return to winning ways for a chance to finish fifth in the league, with the hope Arsenal slip up in their last match against Burnley.
However, it was mission impossible for the Premier League giants, despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer parading a much-changed squad that saw Mason Greenwood earn his first Premier League start.
The visitors started the match brightly after surviving an early sniff of goal for Greenwood who sent a head over the crossbar.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing went on to score the opener for Cardiff in the 23rd minute from the penalty spot, sending David De Gea the wrong way to make it 1-0.
The Englishman doubled Cardiff's advantage in the 54th minute, tapping home after benefiting from United's defensive lapse that involved Scott McTominay.
Efforts by the Red Devils to bag a consolation bore no fruit as the Bluebirds marched to a 2-0 convincing victory.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Isaac Mbenza‘s 60th minute equalier ensured Huddersfield Town force Manchester United to a 1-1 draw in a tough Premier Leaguevat the John Smith’s Stadium.
The result means the Red Devils' quest for a top four finish is over after poor performances from the visitors.
Scott McTominay netted the opening goal of the match from 16 yards after eight minute of action, but Huddersfield Town Jonas Lossl could have done better to keep out the ball.
