Man United legend mocks Liverpool for finishing second in 2018/19 EPL season

- Gary Neville has mocked Liverpool on social media after losing EPL title to Man City

- Liverpool fought till the last day of the season before losing the title to Guardiola's men

- The Reds will face Tottenham in the final of the 2018/19 Champions League in Madrid

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has mocked Liverpool's title defeat by posting a photo shopped image of the team celebrating coming second.

Liverpool lost the fight to win the 2018/19 Premier League title on Sunday, May 12, despite beating Wolves in their last game, but Manchester City defeated.

Before the last games of the season were played, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher described his side's performances as great while doing his punditry job.

“My perfect scenario today is that Brighton score to make it 1-0 with about five minutes to go and Liverpool are winning 1-0 at the time.

''Then somebody from Wolves scores with two minutes to go and that would almost be perfect,'' Neville said before the games on Sunday, May 12.

And after the games were all concluded, Gary Neville took on social media to post a photo congratulating Manchester City with Liverpool players seen in the post.

Meanwhile, Liverpool still have another chance to win a title this season when they face rivals Tottenham in the final of the 2018/19 Champions League in Madrid.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp congratulated Manchester City for beating his side to win the 2018/19 Premier League title on Sunday, May 12.

The 2018/19 Premier League season ended with Manchester City beating Brighton to win the title thereby finishing with a point on-top of their greatest rivals Liverpool.

Liverpool beat Wolves in their last game of the season to finish second on the Premier League standings despite losing only one game in the out-gone term.
