Lucas Moura's hat-trick propels Tottenham to Champions League final after beating Ajax 3-2

- Ajax vs Tottenham Champions League clash saw Lucas Moura help Spurs reach their first ever final

- The Brazilian produce a masterclass performance to score three second half goals as they progress to the final on away goals rule

- They will face fellow Premier League side Liverpool in Madrid on June 1 to decide the winner of this season's edition

- Ajax took the lead in the first half but let go of their two goals lead by allowing Moura steal the show in the second stanza

Premier League side Ajax are through to their first ever Champions League final following their 3-2 win over Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Mauricio Pochettino's men produced a superb performance in the second half to outclass the Dutch side progress to the final on 3-3 aggregate.

Matthijs de Ligt opened scoring for the hosts through a header just five minutes into the game after connecting with Lasse Schoene's cross.

The hosts continued to mount pressure on their guests having unsettled them in the early minutes of the clash with the goal.

As the game progressed, Hakim Ziyech doubled Ajax's lead 30 minutes later through a superb finish from the left flank - a goal assisted by Dusan Tadic in the 35th minute.

And the Dutch side were to keep a clean sheet in the first stanza of the match before the referee signaled the end of the half.

However, on return to the pitch for the second half of the meeting, Mauricio Pochettino's men took a different dimension as Lucas Moura became the hero of the night.

The former Paris Saint Germain star scored a hat-trick which propelled the north London side to the final of the championship for the first time in their history.

Moura grabbed his first goal of the match in the 55th minute after muscling a Dele Alli's assist from close range and reduced his side's deficit in the meeting.

Barely four minutes later, the 26-year-old doubled his tally and equally increased Spurs goals to two in the 59th minute.

It was however looking done and dusted for the Dutch Boys as they game had entered into the extra minutes.

But the Brazilian struck one more time in the 96th minute to ensure Tottenham qualify for the final and will face fellow EPL side Liverpool.

Coach Erik ten Hag's men will however have themselves to blame for squandering their early lead in the encounter after conceding three goals in the second half of the match.

Spurs will now battle Liverpool on June 1 for the Champions League title with the Reds hoping to win their sixth - while the north Londoners will be aiming for their first ever UCL crown.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Tottenham Hotspur risk crashing out of the Champions League at the semifinal stage after suffering 1-0 defeat to Ajax in the first leg of their fixtures.

Donny van de Beek's first half goal from close range saw the Premier League outfit lose their first European match at their new stadium.

Meanwhile, Spurs were without Harry Kane, who suffered injury against Man City, while Son Heung-min was suspended in their victory over the Citizens.
