Liverpool star claims 1 prestigious award after failing to win Premier League City

Liverpool goalie Alisson claimed a piece of silverware on the final day of the Premier League despite losing the title to Man City.

According to the Daily Mail, the Brazilian, who was campaigning in the English topflight for the first time after arriving from Roma last summer, emerged the 'Golden Glove' award winner- handed to the hot-stopper with the most clean sheets in the course the campaign.

Alisson and City goalie Ederson were tied on 20 clean sheets each before the commencement of hostilities on the final day, and he extended his recorded to 21, with a decent performance during Liverpool's 2-0 win over Wolves at Anfield.

In the other side, Ederson conceded an early goal against Brighton & Hove Albion, before City staged a comeback to net four times and claim back-to-back Premier League title

Interestingly, Alisson's 21 clean sheets saw the Brazilian equal Edwin van der Sar’s 2009 record, with which the Dutchman emerged tops.

A further breakdown of the best goalkeepers for the just concluded campaign, revealed that Chelsea shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga and his Everton counterpart Jordan Pickford finished joint third, keeping just 14 clean sheets each.

At the blast of the final whistle against Wolves, Alisson was handed the 'Golden Glove' prize after the win.

And moment later, Alisson was joined on the pitch by his daughter Helena, who was keen on doing what most Premier League stars failed to achieve during the season.

Alisson arrived Liverpool from Roma for £65million last summer, and could still end the season with a Champions League winners' medal, with the Reds tackling Tottenham Hotspur in the final game in Madrid on June 1.
